Make Lattes at Home – Espresso Drink Recipes [infographic]

Making a nice espresso drink is not too hard; you just need to have some knowledge about the recipes. With a fully automatic espresso machine you don’t even need to know the recipe, the machine does it all for you. All you have to do is press a button. The editorial team at Coffee Brewing Methods created this infographic to help their readers choose between a cappuccino and a latte. They also wrote an article on how to choose the best latte machine for home use. And don’t think that owning an espresso machine is too expensive, because that’s just not true. If you make just one cappuccino everyday for a year, you can cover the cost for the machine.

We made lattes without an espresso machine, and it is possible. If your budget is very tight you can do that, because you have no choice. If your budget allows it though, a real latte is an experience, and it doesn’t compare to your milk and coffee beverage. The folks at Coffee Brewing Methods point cappuccino as their favorite milk and coffee drink. My favorite is latte, what is your favorite?

Espresso vs Drip Coffee vs Turkish Coffee [infographic]

Various types of coffee brewing techniques compared. Learn the differences between the various coffee preparation techniques. The infographic created by the Coffee Brewing Methods editorial team compares three of the most popular brewing methods: Drip coffee, Turkish coffee, and espresso. According to the team, Turkish coffee, espresso, or manual brewing methods, become more and more popular. They have various “How To’s” on coffee preparation, including how to make espresso, Turkish coffee brewing, and cold brew coffee. You can take a look at their tutorials if you feel adventurous. asdas

Drip coffee is still by far, the most popular brewing method, because it makes a clear cup. The light taste profile also makes it more appealing to people with sensitive palate. Espresso and Turkish appeals to coffee aficionados, and it fulfills their need of intense flavor, and full body. According to the infographic, however, preparing an espresso is not simple. This is probably another reason to stick to your automatic drip coffee routine. My favorite is espresso, but I buy it at the coffee shop every day. Turkish is “not my cup of tea”. What is your favorite coffee type?

The Mythical Creatures of Nature

You won’t find dragons and scary beasts on this infographic. However, this collection has it’s own style, and only shows creatures that can be called The Guardians of Nature. Nature is their home. And they were born with the only purpose – to protect it whether it’s just taking care of the woods or not letting people destroy it. They are completely devoted to what they do. And that is something that deserves admiration.

The infographic is kids-friendly. More over you will probably have a lot of fun with your little ones trying to remember the names of all creatures, and where they came from, or what cartoon characters they remind you of.

As different as they are, there is one thing that unites them: all together they show various sides of nature; its beauty and its power, its dangers and its unexpected, its hospitality and hostility at the same time.

Installing and running Firebase hosting and database from windows

Google has lunched the service Firebase which includes hosting, Database, Storage, Cloud messaging and many others. you can check all the information on https://firebase.google.com/

To install and use those service on windows you must follow the below steps steps, we will also show how to install and deploy Firebase hosting on windows.

1- Install node.js, if you haven’t before download it from this link https://nodejs.org

node.js installer

2- open the node.js command prompt, go to your start menu. find the node.js and from inside it open node.js commad prompt. It’s very important to open this command prompt and not the normal cmd.

node.js command prompt

3- run the following command “npm install -g firebase-tools”, in the documentation on google website there is a $ sign before this command, don’t use it as this is for unix and/or linux. If the installation is successful you will see something like this.

firebase install success

Congratulation Firebase is installed, now you have to connect to your google account and initialize a project.

4 – Connect to your google account using the following command “firebase login”, a pop up will open in a browser asking you to authenticate. If everything is successful you will get “+  Success! Logged in as xxxxx@xxxx.com”.

5- Initialize Firebase project, in this phase make sure you are already in the correct folder, because the installation will use the folder you are currently in as your home directory. As an example i created c:\firebase, so my command will be like this C:\firebase>firebase init

If this phase is successful you will get a big yellow firebase and the steps after that will select a project or create a new one and install for you a database and a public hosting folder.

To Develop and deploy web applications to firebase go to the public folder created, there is inside it index.html, update that file as you wish. now to deploy that file all you have to do is run the following command

firebase deploy

This command will upload all the content of the public folder to the link provided. in my case it is https://project-3617037528540627832.firebaseapp.com

you can also map any domain or custom domain to this project

Visit Brazil, the Land of Diversity

Centrally situated in South America, Brazil is the largest country on the continent. It consists of similar geography and topography across the country, and it has a very diverse population. Brazil is no stranger to tourism as people from across the globe come to visit year round. Its history, culture, and tourist attractions are just a few things that draw people to Brazil.

The people of Brazil have an intriguing cultural background. While visiting, you are guaranteed to meet people from various ethnicities, including Native American, African American, European or Asian descent, and a combination of these. Brazilians are friendly, honest people who enjoy companionship. They are known to invite people to have lunch or dinner with them at their houses. One of the most significant events that happens in Brazil every year is Carnival. Carnival is a week long celebration that occurs after Lent, and consists of dancing, fascinating costumes, floats, and all out celebration. If you like partying, definitely visit Brazil around the time of Carnival.

Tourism is a big industry in Brazil, especially in the southeastern region of the country. One of the most popular tourism destinations is the city of Rio de Janeiro. People flock to this city to visit its beautiful beaches, one of the most well-known being Copacabana. Brazilians love soccer, so it should come as no surprise that Rio has the largest soccer stadium, the Maracana Stadium. Downtown Rio has plenty of sites to see, including many churches, cathedrals and historic sites. The concrete Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro, the Municipal Theater, and the National Library are some great places to go see. South of downtown is where Copacabana and a few of the beaches are located, as well as the famous Sugarloaf Mountain. You have to take two cable cars up to the top, and the view is breath taking, as can be seen in this photo.

If you aren’t too familiar with Rio, don’t go to the favelas north of the city. This is a poorer part of town where a lot of crime happens. This is only one city in Brazil. Brasilia are two other cities one can visit while in the country.

Brasilia is especially interesting to those who are interested in architecture, as many of the buildings downtown are designed to match each other with the same style. The city is built along the shore of Lake Paranoa.

Lago-Paranoa

This is especially appealing to those who enjoy such activities as fishing, kayaking, and boating, as well as wind surfing and diving. If you prefer to stick to downtown settings, there is a lot to see in downtown Brasilia. The architect Oscar Niemeyer designed the majority of the buildings found here. The Congressional Palace is an impressive structure; it is composed of two towers connected by a concrete dome and a concrete bowl called the Chamber of Deputies. Perhaps more impressive is the city’s cathedral. The National Theater and Itamaraty Palace are a couple other destinations that must be seen. Brasilia has fairly good transportation. The airport is about seven miles (11.27 Km) from the center of the city, and taxi and bus services are always waiting for arriving passengers. Rio has two airports that serve commercial flights too and from the city, and buses are the main form of transportation in the city. Brazil has a very accessible layout within its cities for the most part.

Brazil is a splendid place to visit, whether you want to see modern skyscrapers, or the plant and animal life in the Amazon River Basin. Its history and culture are as interesting as ever. Brazilian tradition is very welcoming and comforting to those who are not from the area. If you visit Brazil, you won’t be disappointed.

A bit about some Indian Spices [Infographic]

Indian-Spices-Infographic

Turmeric

Whether chopped, sliced, grated or ground, turmeric provide bright color and imparts a robust, peppery flavor ad aroma with a hint of aged wood.

It provides the characteristic golden color of curies and dhal, a type of stew made from hulled, split lentils or peas Turmeric is also featured in Indian chutney, piccalilli and kedgeree (pickles), as well as in rice, vegetable and seafood dishes.

Cardamom

Cardamom is a member of the ginger family known for its unique flavor and aroma, which can be described as smoky, floral, citrus and sweet all at the same time.

Many traditional Indian dishes feature different varieties of cardamom. Elettaria, or green cardamom, is combined with condensed milk and sugar to make sweets collectively referred to as mithai. Green cardamom is also used to flavor coffee and teas, most notably Masala chai.

Coriander

Though coriander is the dried, brown seeds of the cilantro plant it doesn’t taste anything like the herb. in fact, the seeds taste like burnt orange when toasted but are mildly sweet when ground as a spice.

Coriander is a staple in Indian cuisine. It is added whole or ground to chutneys, pickling spice mixtures and is frequently used to season chicken and pork. Often, coriander seeds are combine with cumin seeds and fried “dry” before being powdered.

Star anise

To add some pungent, warm flavor to your cuisine, try adding on or two whole star anise pods to slow cooking soups and stews. Adding star anise to braising liquids when simmering a chicken or a beef roast is a particularly easy way to get meat that simply falls off the bone and retains its natural juices.

Cinnamon

once traded as currency in china and elsewhere this spice has a rich history to accompany its agreeable flavor and smell. its delicate but persistent aroma is warm sweet and woody and its fragant flavor has notes of clove and citrus.

In Indian cooking cinnamon is used in many different masalas (spice mixes) as wells condiments such as chutneys and pilafs.

Nutmeg

A pungent sweet spice with a similar aroma to mace the spice with which it shares a botanical name. Nutmeg is more pine-like than mace and is used in very different ways in cooking. the flavor is arm and has hints of clove as well as a discreet bittersweet woody flavor. it is sweeter than mace but it is also a component of many savory dishes.

It combines well with cardamom cinnamon cloves and coriander and flavors Moghul (Northern Indian) dishes like pilafs and birani: kebabs and koftas.

Saffron

Saffron’s violet lily-like flowers contain three yellow-orange stigmas. used as a dye, spice, and perfume, saffron stigma have been in great demand since ancient times. It takes about 75000 flowers to yield 1 pound of saffron hence its position as the world’s most expensive spice.

Fortunately only a small amount is required in cooking, as larger amounts will yield a bitter taste instead of the pleasant subtly sweet earthly taste it imparts in smaller quantities. It has a unique rich pungent smell and combines well with anise cardamom cinnamon, nutmeg and others. it flavors savory dishes such a Moghul biriani (meat and rice dishes) as well as sweet kulfis ( a kind of Indian ice cream).

Cloves

The Clove tree is an evergreen tree that grows up to 50 feet. the clove tree is pyramid shaped and strongly aromatic. Twice each year unopened flower buds can be picked and dried. The dried flower buds are called cloves.

In cooking they should be used sparingly as they will assert their pungent sharpness over other flavors. Cloves are essential to garam masala the spice blend that is featured in many Indian dishes.

Mustard seed

The Pungent earthy aroma of mustard seed begins to be notice on grinding, though mustard seed is rarely used in its powdered form in Indian cooking. Brown mustard seeds are prominent in southern Indian cooking where they are commonly fried in oil so as to infuse a nutty taste without heat.

In a process called tempering mustard seed, curry leaves, cumin and asafetida are fried in very hot oil (carefully watching that the mustard seeds don’t escape) and added to dishes before serving.

Cumin

Cumin seed refers to the seed of Cuminum cyminum, an annual herd related to parsley, dill and caraway. Like other members of the Umbelliferae family, the plan bears a fruit that contains a single, oblong-shaped, highly aromatic seed.

Cumin seeds are most often used dry roasted which reduces some of its natural bitterness and draws out its nuttiness. Alternatively they are often fried in oil when used whole.

It is used in curry powder and masala, and its pairing with coriander it what gives much Indian foots its characteristic aroma.

RIP #Muhammad Ali, ‘The Greatest of All Time’, Dead at 74

“Float like a butterfly, Sting like a bee” Muhammad Ali, the 3 times world heavyweight boxing champion died on June 3, 2016 at the age of 74 after suffering from parkinson.

Bio.

Muhammad Ali born Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr., January 17, 1942 – June 3, 2016 was an American professional boxer, generally considered the greatest heavyweight in the history of the sport. Early in his career, Ali was known for being an inspiring, controversial and polarizing figure both inside and outside the boxing ring. He is one of the most recognized sports figures of the past 100 years, crowned “Sportsman of the Century” by Sports Illustrated and “Sports Personality of the Century” by the BBC. He also wrote several best-selling books about his career, including The Greatest: My Own Story and The Soul of a Butterfly.

Ali, originally known as Cassius Clay, began training at 12 years old. At the age of 22, he won the world heavyweight championship from Sonny Liston in a stunning upset in 1964. Shortly after that, Ali joined the Nation of Islam and changed his name. He converted to Sunni Islam in 1975, and then to Sufism in 2005.

In 1967, three years after winning the heavyweight title, Ali refused to be conscripted into the U.S. military, citing his religious beliefs and opposition to American involvement in the Vietnam War. He was eventually arrested and found guilty on draft evasion charges and stripped of his boxing title. He did not fight again for nearly four years—losing a time of peak performance in an athlete’s career. Ali’s appeal worked its way up to the U.S. Supreme Court where, in 1971, his conviction was overturned. Ali’s actions as a conscientious objector to the war made him an icon for the larger counterculture generation

Ali remains the only three-time lineal world heavyweight champion; he won the title in 1964, 1974, and 1978. Between February 25, 1964 and September 19, 1964 Muhammad Ali reigned as the undisputed heavyweight boxing champion.

Nicknamed “The Greatest”, Ali was involved in several historic boxing matches. Notable among these were the first Liston fight, three with rival Joe Frazier, and “The Rumble in the Jungle” with George Foreman, in which he regained titles he had been stripped of seven years earlier.

At a time when most fighters let their managers do the talking, Ali, inspired by professional wrestler “Gorgeous” George Wagner, thrived in—and indeed craved—the spotlight, where he was often provocative and outlandish. He controlled most press conferences and interviews, and spoke freely about issues unrelated to boxing. Ali transformed the role and image of the African American athlete in America by his embrace of racial pride and his willingness to antagonize the white establishment in doing so. In the words of writer Joyce Carol Oates, he was one of the few athletes in any sport to “define the terms of his public reputation”.

Heavyweight championship

1964

1978

September 15, 1978, Ali defeated Leon Spinks in a unanimous 15-round decision to reclaim the heavyweight crown and become the first fighter to win the world heavyweight boxing title three times.

Famous quotes by the legend Muhammad Ali

  2. Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.
  3. Don’t count the days; make the days count.
  4. If my mind can conceive it, and my heart can believe it—then I can achieve it.
  5. It’s hard to be humble when you’re as great as I am.
  6. If you even dream of beating me you’d better wake up and apologise.
  7. Braggin’ is when a person says something and can’t do it. I do what I say.
  8. I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was.
  9. Only a man who knows what it is like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul and come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win when the match is even.
  10. I should be a postage stamp. That’s the only way I’ll ever get licked.
  11. He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.
  12. A man who views the world the same at 50 as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.
  13. I hated every minute of training, but I said, ‘Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.’
  14. I’ve wrestled with alligators. I’ve tussled with a whale. I done handcuffed lightning. And throw thunder in jail.
  15.  It’s just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up.

Rest in Peace #Muhammad Ali, you are truly “The Greatest”.

How to get white teeth naturally?

Struggling to get that pearl like white teeth back? Well, fret no more, because we have the solution. But to know how to fight with the yellowing of one’s teeth, it is essential that you know what causes it. There are several reasons for the discoloration of your teeth and a major part of it includes your lifestyle choices and obviously, to some extent, your genetics.

The part of your teeth which is apparent to the naked eye is known as enamel, which gives our teeth the white color. Now, there are certain food and drinks which might let the enamel of your teeth decay and thus reveal the yellow dentin. Smoking too can cause discoloration and so on goes the list. To speak of the ways by which you can get back your natural white color, you can always go for artificial methods and end up paying a fortune or you can simply go natural on your teeth. Here are few natural ways to get your white teeth back:

Mix some baking soda with a dash of lemon juice- There is no better thing than this duo. Baking soda or Sodium bicarbonate acts as an abrasive, which removes all the stains from your teeth and the lemon juice is one good, natural, bleach. Thus when you mix these two, put some of this paste on your toothbrush and brush your teeth for about some time and then wash it off, all the stains will be removed and your teeth will turn, comparatively, whiter. Do not overuse this paste on your teeth, because that can damage them severely but try and stick to this, once a week and you will get what you desire.

Apple does keep the doctors away, even the dentist- It is a known fact that crunchy fruits are good for health. So, we have all followed the pattern and started munching those apples left in the fruit bowl. But these apples help you immensely in maintaining the whiteness of your teeth, because they have malic acid, which dissolves all the stains.

Strawberry, baking soda and salt scrub- Strawberry is yummy as it is, but when mixed with salt and baking soda it will work wonders for your teeth. We have already covered the part as to what baking soda does for your teeth and to top it off, the strawberry, which has Vitamin C helps break down the plaque. There is also malic acid present in it, which removes the stain and the salt is the abrasive component which scrubs away the stains, physically.

Neem Leaf Twigs to get white teeth right at home: Considered as the oldest trick for a fuller and bright set of dentals, the neem leaf twigs have been in the scene for a long period of time. In fact before the arrival of these branded toothbrushes with fascinating qualities came on board the twig of this leave was the to-go for the best gum, cavity, and tooth care. It serves the purpose gradually and one can use it by squeezing the juice inside the twigs with the help of the teeth and in spite of using a toothbrush get useful ones from the Mother Nature.
